Job Requirements & Duties

  • Care for plants through their entire growing season to ensure healthy development and strong yields
  • Monitor and manage watering and fertilizing to meet the specific needs of different plants and growing conditions
  • Detect plant health problems early and use pruning and training techniques to support growth and productivity
  • Keep detailed records of plant growth and health and share observations with the team to improve crop results
  • Collaborate with team members to plant, maintain, and harvest crops efficiently and safely
  • Clean and disinfect greenhouse areas between growing cycles to protect plants from diseases and pests
  • Practice environmentally responsible methods to protect soil, water, and plant health throughout the growing process

Education & Training

  • No post-secondary education is required to start working in this role. However, completing a diploma or degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field can help with career advancement and open up more opportunities.
