Job Requirements & Duties

  • Make sure all team members work safely and follow food safety guidelines
  • Plan production schedules and find ways to improve efficiency
  • Check products throughout production to ensure they are safe, high-quality, and meet standards
  • Set up and maintain equipment, and assign staff to each station to keep production running smoothly
  • Record production results, maintenance activities, and any issues that occur
  • Provide feedback and guidance to employees and report on performance
  • Train team members on food safety, hygiene, and efficient production practices
  • Coordinate with suppliers or farmers to ensure ingredients and materials meet quality standards
  • Monitor automated systems and machinery to support smooth and safe production processes

Education & Training

  • A degree in operations management, food science, or food engineering can be helpful, but hands-on experience in a processing plant is very important.
  • On-the-job training teaches the unique equipment and processes at each facility.
