Job Requirements & Duties

  • Take care of filtration systems and plumbing to keep tanks running properly
  • Collect and test water samples to make sure the water is healthy for fish
  • Examine samples under a microscope to check fish and water health
  • Help with harvesting fish and preparing orders when needed
  • Work with a team to move and sort fish into new tanks
  • Keep detailed records of observations and patterns to track fish growth and health

Education & Training

  • No post-secondary education is required, but a degree or diploma in aquaculture technology can be helpful.
