Job Requirements & Duties

  • Use data to adjust feeding plans and organize grading events to help fish grow healthy and strong
  • Design technologies and systems that fit the facility and the types of fish being raised
  • Oversee tank inspections to check for diseases or parasites and decide on the best treatments
  • Use technology to monitor water quality and maintain ideal conditions for the fish
  • Manage and train support workers and supervise technicians in the hatchery or fish facility
  • Keep financial records, plan strategies, and make sure quality standards are met

Education & Training

  • To work as an Aquaculture Manager, you usually need a college diploma in aquaculture, fish biology, or a similar field, or several years of experience in fish or aquaculture operations.
