Job Requirements & Duties

  • Work with farmers and agribusiness owners to understand their needs for barns, storage facilities, or other farm buildings
  • Design blueprints and mockups for agricultural buildings, incorporating farm operations and equipment needs
  • Plan construction projects, including materials, labor, and timelines, ensuring farms stay productive
  • Supervise construction on farms, solving challenges to keep projects on track and safe
  • Assist farmers during and after construction to adjust systems for efficiency and functionality
  • Track time and costs to keep farm building projects on budget and resources well managed

Education & Training

  • A university degree in engineering or civil technology is recommended, especially for designing and managing farm buildings and other agricultural construction projects.
